Green University Students Participate in CITES COP20 in Samarkand
Students of Green University took part in the 20th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES COP20), held in Samarkand. Their participation as official representatives marks an important milestone in strengthening youth engagement in global environmental governance.
CITES COP20 brought together government delegations, international organizations, scientists, and civil society representatives from around the world to discuss key issues related to the protection of endangered species, sustainable wildlife management, and the global fight against illegal trade in flora and fauna.
Green University’s student delegation actively engaged in thematic sessions, panel discussions, and side events dedicated to biodiversity conservation, species protection mechanisms, climate–biodiversity interlinkages, and the role of youth in advancing global environmental agendas. By joining these discussions, students gained invaluable exposure to international decision-making processes and contributed their perspectives on strengthening global conservation efforts.
The participation of Green University students demonstrates the university’s commitment to fostering climate-conscious leadership, enhancing environmental education, and supporting youth involvement in international policy dialogues. It also reflects the broader mission of Green University to prepare specialists capable of addressing complex ecological challenges at both national and global levels.
Green University extends its appreciation to the conference organizers and partners for creating an inclusive platform for youth engagement and looks forward to continued participation in global environmental forums.
